Why Eco friendly?

Made From Recycled Tetrapaks

Recycling tetra paks which are made of paper, polyethylene and aluminum conserves natural resources, saves energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and keeps landfill space free for other types of trash that cannot be recycled. Recycling one ton of paper-based products can save 17 trees, 7,000 gallons of water, 380 gallons of oil, 3.3 cubic yards of landfill space and 4,000 kilowatts of energy.

Paper recycling reduces sulfur dioxide emissions by eliminating the use of coal which is used in the paper industry to generate power, hence promoting less use of fossil fuel.

Every time paper recycles, the fibre becomes shorter, weaker and more brittle. In general, paper can be recycled up to seven times before it must be discarded.

Recycling tetra paks also helps to keep the polyethylene and aluminum, used in making the tetra pak, away from landfills which take hundreds or thousands of years to bio-degrade and degrade the soil and underground water.

It is estimated that by 2025, the demand for paper would be close to 25 million metric tonnes and is not an easily achievable task for the Indian paper industry to meet the demands with the just virgin paper given the limited and ever decreasing amount of indigenous raw materials required like trees, coal, water, etc. The only way to achieve this in a sustainable way is to reuse. So let's use recycled paper and paper-based products for an environmentally sustainable and greener tomorrow!

Ecohoy is derived from two Eco and Hoy. Hoy in English is used to attract someone’s attention (Recall the pirate’s Ahoy!) and in Spanish it means “Today”. – We strive to divert people’s attention to the environment and aim to catalyze change, not tomorrow but today and beginning now.
