Why Eco friendly?

This product is made from hand-woven Ikat Cotton fabric.
Ikat patterns are naturally dyed and bonded into threads before the cloth is weaved.
The process starts with warp or weft threads being bundled and tied that resists the action of natural dye colors.
Bundles are than tied to a wooden frame and put into a dye vat. Here they are given repeated dye treatments to generate bands of pattern. Once the dyeing process is complete, and then starts the complex and intricate process of weaving these threads into a stable piece of fabric.
The tools required for carrying out this process are – pick, scissors, dye vats, cord, or any other tying material to resist dye.
The entire process involves traditional hand-woven, natural and handcrafted techniques. The entire process is low on energy consumption and also has a lower carbon footprint.
Traditionally colors from plants, flowers, and barks of trees are used as dyes in this process. This ensures that the fabric used in this product is eco-friendly and sustainable. Description

Ikat or Ikkat Fabric
Ikat is an elaborate dying process done with silk or cotton fabrics. The end result is a piece of cloth bathed and glittered in colorful patterns. Ikat is one of the most ancient techniques of dyeing fabrics.
The process starts with the warp or weft threads being bundled and bound with rubber bands which can resist the action of natural dye colors. The bundles, then, are tied to a wooden frame and put into the dye vat. Here they are given repeated dye treatments to generate bands of pattern. Once the dying process is completed, then starts the complex and intricate process of weaving these threads into a stable piece of fabric. The entire process involves traditional hand-woven, natural and handcrafted techniques.
