Why Eco friendly?

Plant fibres are a kind of renewable resources, which have been renewed by nature and human ingenuity for thousands of years. Hibiscus – a plant fibre because of its biodegradability and environmental compatibility, the usage of Hibiscus has increased.

Research proved that one acre of hibiscus can produce 10-20 times more usable fibre. If processed properly, hibiscus is more lustrous, greater tensile strength and has greater resistance to rot when compared to jute. Hibiscus production is less costly and less time consuming than other raw crops, given that it produces a high yield with negligible use of chemicals. Natural fibres have become more prevalent in fashion over the last decade.

Today hibiscus has become the potential natural fibre source. It is claimed to be one of the most sustainable fibre plants in existence, due to its growth rate and excellent ability to replenish the environment it grows in. It can be grown in several places, during its growing season it improves soil structure and fixes nutrients in soil. This plant requires minimal amount of water and nearly no fertilizers or pesticides and grows extremely rapid to its full 15 feet in only 150 days. As a natural material, hibiscus is completely biodegradable and since neither cultivation nor processing requires synthetic chemicals. Currently one of the major challenges in textile industry is related to environmental problem. They are facing great pressure to reduce pollutant emissions.

Further growing Hibiscus could also be a solution to global warming as it is having ability to absorb more CO2 than any other plant.
