Women menstruate between the age of 15 to 55 years for an average of 5 days every month 12 times a year. There are approximately 350 million women in India in this age group (2017 Estimate). Assuming every woman uses on an average 3 disposable pads per day during her period, that makes 15 pads a month per woman that gets thrown out every month. Multiply that with 350 million women, that makes a whooping 63 billion pads that land up in dustbins, landfills, rivers and oceans every single year! These pads are non-degradable and pollute the land and the sea endangering life, degrading ocean water and soil quality. Cloth pads are reusable for more than 90 washes.

They are compact to carry (can be folded to fit into a purse or a pocket), easy-to-maintain (can be hand-washed or machine-washed) and rash-free. These cloth pads have broad wings to minimise pant stains and hold it in place. They are leak-proof and come in a variety of colourful patterns to make period-time, fun-time!. These pads are made by trained women of Mandya district in Karnataka and they are as excited as us to know the feedback on their stitched product. And by the way, these are eco-friendly as they save millions of disposables from the landfill!
