Terracotta comes from the Latin word Terra Cotta. In Italian, it means “baked earth” it gets the reddish colour is because of its iron content. The colour varies depending upon the kind of clay used.

Features of the product are as follows:

1. As per Ayurveda- clay retains 97% of nutritive value of food and gives its own micronutrients keeping food served in them healthier as compared to conventional plastic, glass or steel alternatives.
2. Clay utensils, being porous, allow moisture and heat to circulate freely and easily through them allowing the content to stay warm or cool for a longer period.
3. Clay utensils are alkaline, hence it neutralises the acid content in the ingredients.
4. It is washable and reusable.

Special Care

How to use:

  • Before using utensils, soak the utensil in water for one (1) days. This helps to maintain the strength of the clay utensil.
  • Allow the utensils to dry completely, It can be kept in sunlight to dry (depending on the weather it might take more than 1 day to dry).
  • Use wooden spatula for the clay utensil.

Washing Method:

  • Before washing, let the utensil come back to room temperature, soak it in water for an hour to retain the strength.
  • The stains should be cleaned with a sponge.

All clay items can be washed with soft sponge like scotch brite. Do not use iron scrubber. Dry it in open.

After emptying the food from the pot, fill it with water and keep the water standing in it for 10 minutes. Use soft brush to wash it.
