Menstruation – Your Choice – Can We Make It Sustainable?
Your pads are made from plastic materials. They also contain rayon, a synthetic fiber, which involves dioxins in them. Do you know that an average woman in India uses about 10,000 sanitary pads in her lifetime? When these sanitary pads are disposed of, they take around 500-800 years to biodegrade. If they are burnt, they release toxic gases. Sanitary waste has become a big problem these days: every household generates it and there is no proper disposal method for it other than chucking it in the bin, finally hitting landfills.
Why one should opt for this product?
Women menstruate between the age of 15 to 55 years for an average of 5 days every month 12 times a year. There are approximately 350 million women in India in this age group (2017 Estimate). Assuming every woman uses on an average 3 disposable pads per day during her period, that makes 15 pads a month per woman that gets thrown out every month. Multiply that with 350 million women, that makes a whopping 63 billion pads that land up in dustbins, landfills, rivers and oceans every single year! These pads are non-degradable and pollute the land and the sea endangering life, degrading ocean water and soil quality.
1) This product uses highly-absorbent banana fiber, which is an agricultural by-product and does not require additional land or water usage.
2) Breathable - The breathability of bamboo fiber and banana fiber is the first of all kinds of fibers.
3) Corn & Bamboo fiber are pure plant fibers that are stimulating to the body and suitable for allergic women. The pads are all chlorine & dioxin bleach free.
4) Bamboo fiber contains a lot of antioxidants and can effectively remove free radicals in the body. It also keeps elasticity and delays aging.
5) Eco-Friendly - We use bioplastic and biodegradable packing boxes both made from natural bamboo & corn fiber.
6) It does not cause rashes or chronic illnesses.
These eco-friendly and compostable sanitary napkin pads do not contain any bleach or chemicals that release toxins into the environment upon disposal. Being made from all-natural materials, this product is comfortable for the user and environment alike. All-natural and fully biodegradable sanitary pads that are made out of bamboo, banana and corn fiber seriously committed to reducing their carbon footprint.
